It was great to see so many parents here last night at the Lower School Information Evening – a really friendly St Catherine’s family feel was clearly in evidence around the school. It was also pleasing to see so many of the parental community here on Monday evening for the Jonathan Taylor Online Safety Presentation – the session turned out to be as fascinating and enlightening as it promised to be, if, of course, a little worrying as well. But it is always better to be in the know – Jonathan’s presentation will be available for all parents on the website in due course.
Our Partnership with Parents sessions for Lower School and EYFS also proved very popular as did the first PTSA meeting on Wednesday. It is always reassuring to see our parental community showing their interest and support – thank you, it is much appreciated.
The Year 7 were the first to go out on a trip in the new academic year – the annual Malakasa trip always proves great fun and helps the pupils bond in their new form groups. More trips will be following soon.
I would like to end this week with congratulating our good friend, Che Jon Fernandez. As I am sure many of you know already, on Wednesday Che Jon struck gold in Rio – competing in the Shot Put F53 event he achieved his Paralympic dream of a gold medal. Bravo Che Jon! We are looking forward to seeing him in school with his medal in the near future.
