The final two weeks of the term proved to be exciting and busy as ever – indeed the buzz around the school was maintained throughout the first week of the holiday not only with our annual summer camp for the younger children but also with the introduction of the EPL Football Summer Camp. Some 75 of our children responded superbly to the Premier League Academy coaches despite the intense heat – indeed so impressed was James Quinn, their Director, that we are already planning future opportunities. They found our children “a pleasure to work with, they showed a real maturity when engaging with the coaches, their behaviour throughout the week was outstanding and their general mindset towards developing and challenging themselves was a breath of fresh air”. Bravo to everyone involved!
There were many highlights in the final week of the term:
- The Year 5 Art Exhibition in the Conference Room of the Warren Tutte Building was a fabulous addition to our calendar. Well done to Mrs Batavanis and all in Year 5.
- The Theban Plays were a triumph in all respects and, although it was performed for one night only, attracted a most appreciative audience. The students worked extremely hard, performed in a highly sophisticated language, and gave up many weekends to produce a most stunning performance. Again bravo to all involved!
- The Year 6 Transition Assembly, the Key Stage Three Awards Presentation and the IB Graduation all proved to be magnificent end-of-year events with rousing celebrations of the students’ achievements.
Before this current week is out, I will also be sending out a letter updating everyone on the progress with our new development – exciting news indeed – but also responding to some questions about the possible implications of Brexit – not such exciting news of course! Congratulations and thanks to everyone for another fabulous year – we look forward to September with real excitement as we move on with our new development.
Have a great summer!
