We have an exciting and action-packed weekend ahead of us! The PTSA Halloween event on Saturday 9th November is without question the biggest St Catherine’s community event of the year – we are anticipating a huge turnout once again! I think a fun and memorable time will be had by all – and I hope not too many nightmares result!

Sunday 10th November sees the Athens Classic Marathon as well as the annual Remembrance Day Service at the Faliro Cemetery. As always our Brownie pack will be assisting with the laying of the wreathes and indeed our newly appointed Lower School Head Girls and Boys will be laying the St Catherine’s British School wreath. At 11.00am on Monday 11th November the whole school will be keeping one minute’s silence in memory of all those who made the ultimate sacrifice. As well as the traditional red poppies, we have also been selling the white poppies – these also have a long history going back to the 1930’s when the Peace Pledge Union was established with the noble aim of ending all wars. As current experience tells us humanity fails to learn from its past mistakes!
